La aclamada carrera artística del director de cine español había continuado a pesar de que su última película, “El olvido que quiero”, que se había publicado el año anterior, fue un fracaso de crítica y público. Fernando Rodríguez Trueba, más conocido por su nombre artístico Fernando Trueba, actualmente trabaja en la industria cinematográfica española y en la industria editorial como guionista, director, editor de libros y productor.
Su nombre artístico es Fernando Trueba. A partir de 1974 y hasta 1979, trabajó como crítico de cine para El Pas, el diario más leído de España. Cuando debutó por primera vez en la industria del cine con la película “opera prima” en la década de 1980, hizo la mayor parte de su trabajo y ganó la mayor parte de su dinero durante esa década.
Durante este período, además de sus logros como director, se hizo un nombre en la industria cinematográfica como guionista y productor respetado.
