Cristóbal Halffter incluyó al compositor español Luis de Pablo Costales en su Generación del 51. Compositor autodidacta que cita como influencias a Maurice Ohana y Max Deutsch, ayudó a formar conjuntos de música contemporánea y organizó ciclos de conciertos en Madrid para ellos.
Además, componía mucho en Madrid. Como resultado, el compositor español ha tenido una carrera fructífera, ganándose aplausos regularmente. De joven tuvo instrucción privada, ya los veinte años ya había compuesto sus primeras piezas.
En sus años de juventud, se había beneficiado de la tutoría privada. Se convirtió en un ícono mundial porque popularizó su música en España y América Latina.
