Adrian Dantley – Coach And Crossing Guard

After Adrian Dantley spent more than a decade and a half in the NBA, he earned 23,000 points at the end of his career. He also earned a position in the Hall of Fame. After hanging his boots he started coaching and quickly became a crossguard. It wasn’t a position to write home about and earned only $14,000 a year. He was not interested to earn money only.

Instead, he loves doing things for other people, assisting them along the way. Apart from coaching, he also divides his time as a referee for recreational and high school teams during his free time. He also became an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets after retirement. Now he is involved in his native place, Maryland assisting the local schools.

On other days he works as a crossing guard for a few hours a day at a nearby middle school and elementary school in Silver Spring.
