The Bench that became a Relic
The historic bench where Gump sits while narrating his story to strangers in the bus stop was located in Savannah, Georgia at Chippewa Square. Because of its aesthetic and sentimental value, the bench was removed as an insurance against damage from bad weather. It is currently placed within the famous Savannah History Museum where visitors can check it out easily.
