For those who have read the book and seen the movie on cable, they can easily observe that there are major differences between the two. The film differs from the novel in terms of events and characterization. Unlike in the novel, Gump is portrayed as reflexive and naive in the film. Moreover, in the novel, Gump actually became an astronaut, a stuntman, and a professional wrestler! The question that remains now is: Is the book better than the movie or is it the other way around?
