The book Forrest Gump was originally written and published in 1986 but upon its release, only a meager 30,000 copies were sold. However, after the movie’s release and its phenomenal success, the book’s fame skyrocketed and over 1.6 million copies reprinted and released. Surprising, isn’t it? We think the sales were enough to fill Winston Groom’s bank account and save him from financial difficulties such as loans, and mortgages, or refinancing after the book’s initial flunk. It’s clear that the movie audience enjoyed the film and decided to buy the book to read later.
