USS Independence
The Independence-class ships look like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. The USS Independence, the class’s namesake, was first commissioned in 2009 and can operate with a surprisingly small crew.

With over ten more ships ordered, it’s easy to see how the Navy prioritizes these futuristic vessels as game-changers for coastal operations.
