At just 12, Annette Funicello took her first steps in showbiz with Disney. Quickly evolving into a teenage star, she found herself in the world of ’60s comedy musicals, notably “Beach Party.” This series paved the way for hits like 1964’s “Bikini Beach,” and earned her a seven-year contract with the production company.

Yet, her true breakthrough occurred in 1963 when she shared the screen with heartthrob Frankie Avalon in another “Beach Party” installment.
