Rosetta LeNoire fit the bill perfectly when she played the role of Estelle Winslow, mother of Carl and grandmother to the children. When her husband died, she moved in with her son and spoiled her grandchildren. Later in the show, she fell in love with a man and moved in with him. Needless to say, Rosetta acted in several other sitcoms. She also had her own theater company where she nurtured upcoming talents and helped them get a place in Broadway shows banking on their own talents. However, she passed away in 2002, and we hope her heirs benefited from her life insurance policies. An actress of her caliber must have had quite a good earning.
