DMX était, sans aucun doute, l’un des artistes les plus vendus de tous les temps. Il a frappé fort avec un album qui a été cinq fois disque de platine et a eu quelques films à grand succès à son actif. Peut-être considérait-il son compte bancaire comme invincible – alors, lorsqu’il a accumulé des dettes par divers moyens, il imaginait facilement qu’elles finiraient par être remboursées. Malheureusement, ce n’était pas le cas, et bientôt il s’est retrouvé confronté à une dette de 10 millions de dollars et a dû faire face à une saisie et à une faillite potentielle, une dette aussi importante étant rarement remboursée, peu importe le montant de la personne qui la détient. DMX n’a pas fait un grand retour en force et n’a jamais vu sa carrière aussi réussie qu’à l’époque de sa gloire.
