Manitou came into existence in the year 1937 and was owned by former president of the United States, John F. Kennedy. Lovingly called back then as ‘The Floating White House’, the yacht served as a working presidential office. Mahogany on oak to build her hull and a teak planking for her deck, – the yacht was really a class apart. Kennedy was a keen sailor himself and as soon as he came across the Manitou, he knew he had to own it at any cost. The yacht is owned and insurance plans are mapped out by Med racers and is undoubtedly well-maintained till date.
