El Tornjak es un perro originario de Bosnia y Herzegovina y es descendiente del mastín tibetano. También se le conoce como el perro pastor croata de Bosnia y Herzegovina. Esta raza resistente amenazará de inmediato a cualquier persona que perciba como una amenaza para su hogar o para las personas que más le importan. Estos perros disfrutan mucho de su trabajo y tienen maravillosos recuerdos de sus amos. Aunque desconfían de las personas nuevas, son amables y afectuosos con las personas que ya conocen y en las que confían, y mantienen la compostura cuando están en entornos seguros con sus dueños.
