Alfonso è attivo in diversi ambiti professionali: è uno stimato giornalista, conduttore, opinionista, scrittore e direttore del settimanale “Chi”. Nella vita privata il giornalista ha sempre dichiarato di essere omosessuale e di non provarne vergogna. Lo scorso anno il conduttore ha concluso una relazione molto importante, durata ben 18 anni, col politico Paolo Galimberti. Una decisione sofferta da ambedue le parti ma necessaria.
