Sandra – 1962
Sandra startete ihre Karriere als Kinderstar. Sie war gerade mal 12 Jahre alt, als sie von einem Talentscout entdeckt wurde und nur 2 Jahre später nahm sie bereits ihre erste Single auf: Andy, mein Freund. Allerdings ließ der Erfolg dieser ersten Single auf sich warten. Zwei weitere Jahre später trat sie einer Girlgroup bei mit dem Namen Arabesque.
Die Girlgroup feierte in Japan große Erfolge, in Europa allerdings wollte man nur wenig von ihnen wissen. Ihr wohl bekanntester Hit ist der, der ihr auch zum Durchbruch verholfen hat: (I’ll never be) Maria Magdalena. Mit Michael Cretus, ihrem Geschäfts- und für kurze Zeit auch Liebespartner, feierte sie in den 90er Jahren mit dem Projekt Enigma große Erfolge in Deutschland.
