La Catrina
Con su sombrero grande y su atuendo elegante, se ha convertido en el símbolo indiscutible del Día de los Muertos. Pero, ¿de dónde surge esta emblemática imagen? Originalmente concebida como una parodia, La Catrina era una crítica social hacia la alta sociedad mexicana que, en su deseo de imitar las modas europeas, negaba sus propias raíces y tradiciones.
Con el paso del tiempo, este esqueleto vestido con ropas finas trascendió su significado original y se integró plenamente en las celebraciones del Día de los Muertos. Representa no solo la muerte, sino también la igualdad ante ella, pues nos recuerda que, sin importar nuestra posición social o riqueza, todos enfrentaremos el mismo destino.
