Olivia es un nombre que se origina en el idioma latín. Olíva se llamaba al árbol del olivo. Actualmente, en español, el árbol se llama olivo y la oliva o aceituna es su fruto. El olivo era un árbol sagrado para la diosa Atenea de la mitología griega.
