Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti Sr. – Together Since 1966

Sophia Loren happens to be one of the few stars of the famous Golden Age of Hollywood, and she was just a girl of sixteen when she met the dashing Carlo Ponti Sr., over two decades her senior. He started out as simply being her producer but was playing an active part in her training. Carlo taught her about art, manners and helped her get rid of her accent. He also taught her English and protected her! Eventually, the two decided their love was strong enough to commit to each other seven years into the relationship.

Unfortunately, Ponti wasn’t yet legally divorced from his former wife. This led to an annulment in 1962 between Ponti and Loren. But they found means for a legal marriage by 1966, from which they remained married until Ponti’s death. Ponti died in 2007. Loren appeared in Human Voice of 2014.
