Ihr Schauspieltalent entdeckte Ingrid Van Bergen schon im sehr jungen Alter. Sie spielte damals für deutsche Soldaten auf der Bühne, die zum Heimaturlaub nach Hause gekommen waren. Ihre rauchige Stimme ist unverkennbar und hat ihr mit Sicherheit auch zu ihrem rasenden Erfolg als Sängerin und Schauspielerin verholfen.
Sie arbeitete schon mit Größten wie Robert Mitchum, O.W. Fischer, Kirk Douglas und Heinz Rühmann zusammen. Zu ihren größten Hits als Schauspielerin zählen Bildnis einer Unbekannten, Rosen für den Staatsanwalt und Der eiserne Gustav. Auch wenn Van Bergen als Schauspielerin nur noch selten zu sehen ist, ist sie trotzdem noch aktiv. Ihre heutigen Leidenschaften sind der Tierschutz und das Schreiben von Kurzgeschichten.
