Once, at a particularly busy airport, a new janitor was tasked with putting up an exit sign. Unfortunately, he had never seen an exit sign before and got a little confused. Instead of pointing the arrow toward the door, he pointed it toward each other. Everyone passing through the airport that day stopped and stared at the sign in confusion.

The janitor had to be called back to fix it, and the whole episode became a running joke among the airport staff for months. To this day, the janitor remains embarrassed about his mistake, but it still makes everyone smile to remember it.
