And then my friend suggested something that made my heart skip a beat. “Why not check back with your old job? See if they have any openings,” she said, her voice full of hope. Her encouragement sparked something in me. Going back would mean confronting old memories, but it also meant a chance to rebuild.
As we continued talking, my friend mentioned seeing a ‘Help Wanted’ sign at a diner nearby. The idea intrigued me, and I wondered if this could be a fresh start. Having a job again gave me something to hold onto. Income and routine are what I needed to steady myself in these uncertain times.
