Getting alcohol sprayed in one’s eye can lead to burning and redness due to the corrosive nature of the drink.
Long-term effects to watch out for include corneal ulceration—a condition that often results in vision loss. However, this depends on the concentration of alcohol and how long our unlucky fellow’s eyes were exposed to it. With a good rinse with plenty of water or saline solution, he should be good to go.
