Louise Minchin, bekend van het BBC-ochtendnieuws, houdt haar privéleven graag buiten de schijnwerpers, maar haar man David verdient ook wat aandacht. David Minchin is een investeerder en eigenaar van horecagelegenheden. De twee ontmoetten elkaar via hun gedeelde sportpassie, waarbij Louise als triatleet en David als skiër actief was. Toen zij hem tijdens een skiwedstrijd versloeg, was hij direct onder de indruk van haar. Het stel stapte ruim twintig jaar geleden in het huwelijksbootje en heeft twee tienerdochters. Hoewel hun moeder een bekend gezicht is, zijn de dochters niet bepaald dol op de aandacht en zien zij haar vooral als de moeder die dagelijks naar haar werk gaat.
