Walter Mercado fue el más conocido y mediático astrólogo que ha existido en la televisión de habla hispana. Nunca se le conoció pareja luego de perder a su esposa en un accidente cuando era muy joven, pero poco antes de morir, hizo pública su relación con Mariette Detotto, una ex conejita de playboy con quien segun Mercado, tenían un amor divino y puro.
