The Nest Was Hiding More Than Silence
Back at the tree, Tim set up the ladder with quick, shaky hands. He knew it was risky, but something about that silent nest kept pulling him in. Typically, the noise of climbing would’ve set off a burst of wings, but nothing moved. No sound, no panic. Just stillness.
He reached the top and leaned in. What he saw inside wasn’t just strange—it was deeply wrong. A wide, ragged hole stared back at him, and something dark sat nestled inside. His breath caught. The sight made his foot slip, nearly throwing him off balance. Shaken, he grabbed his phone and called the only people who might believe him.
