While ancient treasures and rare finds are commonplace, not all transactions pave the way to smooth sailing. Take, for example, one of the shop’s more headline-grabbing incidents involving a collection of gold coins. A woman brought in these coins, and following standard store policy, Harrison decided to melt them down for reuse—a common practice in the pawn business.

However, the plot thickened dramatically when it emerged that these coins were actually stolen property. After being sued for melting them down without proper authorization, the shop found itself in hot water. This caused an intense media stir and was a cautionary tale for them not to do it again!
