Fame’s Double-Edged Sword
When Harrison first envisioned bringing his pawn shop to the television screen, he initially aimed to boost the store’s profile and drum up more business. However, it soared to such heights of popularity that it brought an unexpected twist to the daily operations of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
Store manager Travis Benton shared an inside scoop that might surprise many: the influx of tourists, drawn by the show’s fame, often overcrowds the shop, making it challenging for regular business transactions to take place. Moreover, when the crew is filming, the shop must close its doors to customers altogether, affecting its day-to-day operation.
