It turns out not everyone who dials up the shop is looking to strike a deal. Many are just in it for a laugh, especially when they ask the staff if they have a 1991 copy of the video game “Battletoads” in stock—a classic prank call favorite.
This quirky side effect of the show’s success means the phones are busier than ever, often with calls that leave the staff chuckling or rolling their eyes. With the playful spirit of its audience, at least it kept things interesting at the pawn shop!
