Photographer Sets Up To Capture A Lioness Eating An Antelope In The Wild—But Was Met With A Mind-Blowing Phenomenon Instead!

The Strength of a Lioness

In the lion pack, lionesses are the primary hunters. They supply food for the adult male lion and their cups. Lionesses hunt because it is how the pride is organized socially. On the other hand, the king or the male lion enjoys having endless days to himself in the bushes.

The hunting abilities and agility of lionesses are superior, and they move around 30% more quickly. This is due to their reduced stature and weight being lower by 100 to 200 pounds compared to males. In numbers, they also surpass lions in a pride by a wide margin. They hunt together to make their victim less likely to survive.
