There was no indication of how the little one got to be alone in the area. It makes us wonder if the little cub probably escaped when a dangerous animal killed its mother. You’d think the poor animal would be in mortal danger, having crossed paths with the lioness. After all, the lioness is known for its predatory nature, and a helpless animal like this is just an easy meal.

Naturally, lionesses have traits that make their lives as predators simpler. For starters, they have long claws that are used in entangling their victim and their rough tongues, which they use to tear the prey’s skin.
