DIE WEIGERUNG DER UKRAINE, TOURISTEN DIE EINREISE ZU GESTATTEN
Nach dem Vorfall beschloss die Ukraine, Touristen aus dem Land fernzuhalten, und erst 2011 entschied die Regierung, Touristen die Rückkehr in die Gegend zu gestatten. Die Touren beginnen in Kiew und es gibt einige strenge Regeln und Richtlinien, die befolgt werden müssen. Jedem Touristen wird ein Strahlenmonitor ausgehändigt, sobald er sich für eine bestimmte Zeit in der Nähe von Tschernobyl aufhält. Anwälte für Personenschäden haben diese Entscheidung der ukrainischen Regierung begrüßt und sind der Ansicht, dass das Land im besten Interesse der Touristen entsprechende Sicherheitsmaßnahmen ergriffen hat. Seit dem russischen Angriff auf die Ukraine sind diese Führungen jedoch ausgesetzt. Eine Fortsetzung ist nach heutigen Stand ungewiss.
