IVAN HAT SICH ENTSCHIEDEN, SEIN ZUHAUSE NICHT ZU VERLASSEN
Einige ältere Menschen konnten nirgendwo hin und kehrten in ihre Heimat innerhalb der Sperrzone zurück. Ein gutes Beispiel dafür ist der 80-jährige Ivan Semenjuk, der zusammen mit seiner Frau Marya in sein Heimatdorf Parushev zurückgekehrt ist. Ivan hat nie daran gedacht, in ein Altersheim an einem sichereren Ort zu ziehen, wo er bequem sein Leben verbringen könnte. Stattdessen geht er immer noch in den Wald, um Pilze zu sammeln, baut Gemüse wie Kartoffeln, Gurken, Tomaten, Kürbisse, Rüben und Mais an und züchtet sogar Hühner. Er ist nur einer der wenigen Überlebenden unter den 600 Menschen, die einst die Stadt Parushev bildeten.
