Sailing the Seas of Laughter: Internet Boat Stories
Sadness on the Pier: Dysfunction Afloat
The boat was a rather modern-looking vessel with an assortment of bright colors and sharp lines, completely out of place amongst the quaint fishing boats that filled the pier. Upon closer inspection, however, it became apparent that the boat was far from seaworthy. The dysfunctional components gave every indication that the boat was on its last leg.
It turns out the salt water, exposure to the elements, and general use of the boat had taken their toll over the years. Ironically, this cause of inefficiency is not uncommon amongst water vehicles due to the varying stresses they go through and the fact that major components are often exposed to water.
