Joan Templeman & Richard Branson – $3.6 Billion
Also known as Lady Branson, Joan Templeman met her husband, Richard Branson, in the kitchen of Virgin Records studio while reportedly making a cup of tea. While he fell in love with her instantly, she wasn’t much impressed, and Branson had to go the extra mile to have her accept the proposal.
Accept she did, and the couple moved in together in 1978 and married in 1989. Branson runs a multi-billion dollar empire, the Virgin Group, that owns a chain of record stores and an airline, besides deals in multiple other sectors. He also got the honor of Knight Bachelor from Queen Elizabeth II in 1999.
