Ihr Vater, der sich auf seinem Stuhl zurücklehnte, äußerte seine Besorgnis. Er sagte ihnen, dass eine Schwangerschaft kein Grund zum Scherzen sei. Er fügte hinzu, dass er und ihre Mutter sich nur ein tolles Leben für ihre Töchter wünschten, was natürlich auch Kinder mit einschließen konnte.
Ihr Vater fuhr fort, dass er Lügen oder schlechte Scherze am Weihnachtsfeiertag für nicht angemessen hielt und er nun die Wahrheit wissen wollte. Alle befanden sich zwischen Freude und Besorgnis, denn keiner hatte sich diese Situation im Vorhinein ausmalen können. Hailey hatte außerdem die Frage ihres Vaters noch nicht beantwortet, es war nun Zeit auch ihre Neuigkeit zu verkünden.
