Melissa Sue Anderson comenzó apareciendo en comerciales gracias a su maestro de baile, ella obtuvo su debut en un rol en un episodio de Bewitched en 1972. Ella obtuvo la fama con el programa Little House on the Prairie en el cual Melissa trabajó por siete temporadas. La actriz también fue estrella de algunas películas thriller y aunque no ha estado activa, la actriz logró hacer su nombre conocido. Melissa Sue tiene un aire juvenil y no parece haber envejecido.
