George Strait and Norma Strait – 49 years
The King of Country is hailed by many as one of the most popular and influential personalities in the music scenario. His cowboy look and style of neotraditionalist country music has endeared him to the hearts of the music fans. The Academy of Country Music named Strait as the Artist of the Decade in the year 2000. Aside from that, he was honored with an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Strait eloped with Norma, his childhood sweetheart, in the year 1971 and welcomed Jennifer, their first child, in 1972. Nine years later, Norma gave birth to their son, George Strait Jr. Hiring a divorce attorney has never been on the duo’s agenda and we are happy that their decision to stick together has borne fruits.
