The artist behind this piece relied on phosphorescent paints to create a sustained glow that lights up in dark places.
However, such paints have a limited lifespan and can only glow for up to 12 hours after exposure to light. Most glow-in-the-dark paints are made from non-toxic phosphorus, so they’re safe for use on the face and body.
