A Bet, A New Beginning
Danny loved hiking through nature with his friends, but during one of those hikes, he had an eye-opening experience. As his friends pressed on ahead, he found himself struggling to keep up. They’d stop every so often, calling back to check if he was okay. That moment stuck with him.
In a 2018 NBC News interview, Danny called it his “click moment,” the one that triggered a shift. It was a major turning point, one of the big reasons he decided to make a change. He and Lexi set a timeline for a month of lifestyle changes, fueled by a friendly bet from a pal, sparking their determination.
