Lost Medical Texts of History
The history of doctors stretches back to ancient times, yet much of it vanished in the fire at the Library of Alexandria, one of history’s biggest data losses. The earliest recorded medical texts we have now are from the 18th century BC, but there were healers long before that.
And just like today, ancient doctors knew where the money was—they often preferred treating the wealthy, seeing it as a more “cost-effective” practice. It’s wild to think how many medical secrets from thousands of years ago are simply gone, leaving us with only bits and pieces of the ancient medical world.
