Stephen Barlow & Joanna Lumley – 37 Years Together
Appointed an Officer in 1995 and a Dame Commander in 2022 of the Order of the British Empire, Joanna Lumley has dazzled us with over 100 acting titles. While she got her breakthrough as ‘Purdey’ in the espionage TV series, “The New Avengers,” she has since acted in many notable titles.
In 1986, she married the celebrated opera conductor Stephen Barlow. He’s the proud recipient of an honorary Doctor of Music degree from the University of Chester for his work in music. In an interview, Lumley shared they do not disturb each other while traveling for work and that independence is at the heart of their domestic bliss.
