MARTIN KOOLHOVEN – FILMMAKER – 55 JAAR OUD
Na het afronden van zijn studie aan de Nederlandse Filmacademie stond Martin Koolhoven al snel in de spotlight dankzij zijn regiedebuut ‘Suzy Q’ in 1999, dat hem meteen diverse prijzen opleverde. Zijn succes hield niet op, want films zoals ‘Het Schnitzelparadijs’ en ‘Oorlogswinter’ bevestigden zijn reputatie als een van de belangrijkste filmmakers van Nederland. Zijn grootste prestatie tot nu toe is echter de internationale film ‘Brimstone’, die in 2016 maar liefst zes Gouden Kalveren won. Koolhoven werd verder geëerd met onder meer de Zilveren Roosje en de Rutger Hauer Award, voor zijn toewijding aan het promoten van nieuw filmtalent. Met zijn ogen altijd gericht op nieuwe uitdagingen, blijft Koolhoven zoeken naar boeiende verhalen om op het witte doek tot leven te brengen.
