PENNEY DE JAGER – CHOREOGRAFE – 76 JAAR OUD
Penney de Jager was een stralend middelpunt in de Nederlandse entertainmentwereld in de jaren zeventig en tachtig. Haar talent als danseres en choreografe bracht haar bekendheid, vooral door haar werk voor AVRO’s Toppop. Maar haar invloed ging verder dan alleen televisie. Ze richtte haar eigen balletgezelschap en dansschool op, waar toekomstige showdansers werden opgeleid. Een van de hoogtepunten uit haar carrière was haar verschijning in de videoclip van Julio Iglesias’ hit ‘Quiero’. Op zoek naar nieuwe avonturen vertrok Penney naar de Verenigde Staten, waar ze een tijdlang succesvol werkte. Sinds haar terugkeer naar Nederland in 2008 heeft ze meegewerkt aan verschillende dansprojecten, hoewel ze zich sinds 2014 wat meer heeft teruggetrokken. Tegenwoordig geniet ze van een rustig leven in Utrecht, maar haar liefde voor dans blijft springlevend.
