The Black Stars of Ghana have been a consistent force in African football for many years, but it wasn’t until very recently that they began to make waves internationally. After qualifying for the tournament for the tenth time, Ghana finally made it to the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
They have never made it past the quarterfinals at a World Cup. The Black Stars’ FIFA world ranking has dropped from a high of #14 in 2008 to a current position of #61 as of November 2022. Nevertheless, they have devoted followers like this one who will be cheering them on from the stands.
