Les villageois de la région devaient agir rapidement pour empêcher la mère éléphant de rendre la situation encore plus dangereuse.
Il est peu probable que l’éléphant nouveau-né sorte de la boue, mais même s’il y parvient, les humains ne seront jamais autorisés à s’en approcher suffisamment pour le nourrir ou le sauver.
Pour des raisons évidentes, notamment le fait qu’une mère éléphant en colère pourrait piétiner quiconque essaie de l’aider, il est préférable d’éviter de les approcher. Par conséquent, les villageois étaient impuissants à faire autre chose que de regarder leurs inquiétudes augmenter.
