Ben et Brodie étaient assez confiants sur certaines choses, malgré le fait que trouver la personne à qui appartenait cette valise était une tâche impossible. Tout d’abord, tout ce qui a été découvert à l’intérieur de ce sac suggère fortement qu’il a appartenu à une femme dans le passé.
De plus, ils étaient certains que cela faisait pas mal de temps que ce sac n’avait pas été égaré. Les deux individus n’ont pas pu déterminer le temps qu’il avait passé au fond du lac avant de réussir à le récupérer; néanmoins, ils n’étaient pas du tout étonnés s’il avait été là bien avant que Brodie ne soit même conçu.
