Cher is a legendary pop icon and actress. And when she showed up to the 1986 Oscars, it was in an outfit that could only be described as ‘Cher-esque.’ Known for her bold fashion statements and chart-topping hits, she didn’t disappoint with this eye-popping, sky-high feather headdress, a daring mesh sequined bra, and a low-rise skirt.
This outfit left very little to the imagination, which was exactly the point. While Cher’s musical and acting talents were undisputed, this flamboyant ensemble raised quite a few eyebrows. The Oscars are known for elegance and sophistication, so it wasn’t quite ready for Cher’s level of daring.
