Der finnische Präsident Sauli Niinistö hat die Wahl zwischen verschiedenen Residenzen. Es gibt die direkt am Meer gelegenen Villa Mäntyniemi, den beeindruckenden Präsidentenpalast in Helsinki und eine charmante kleine Burg auf der Insel Luonnonmaa. Der Präsidentenpalast liegt im Herzen von Helsinki und bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das Meer.
Mit drei Stockwerken und einer Wohnfläche von 3.000 Quadratmetern ist er nicht nur beeindruckend, sondern auch ein beliebtes Touristenziel. Auch die Mitglieder des Parlaments verbringen hier viel Zeit. Im Gegensatz dazu ist die Burg Kultaranta ruhiger und wird normalerweise als Sommerresidenz des Präsidenten benutzt und ist von einem 560.000 Quadratmeter großen Park umgeben.
