Das gelbe Reihenhaus mit vier Stockwerken, in dem die ehemalige Kanzlerin Angela Merkel mit ihrem Ehemann in einer Altbauwohnung wohnt, kann man völlig unverpixelt auf Google Maps betrachten. Merkel begründete ihre Offenheit bezüglich ihres Wohnsitzes damit, dass die Leute sowieso Fotos gemacht hätten und sie sich keine Sorgen um ihre Sicherheit mache.
Obwohl ihr eine geräumige Dienstvilla mit 200 Quadratmetern zur Verfügung stand, die sich in bester Lage mit Blick auf die Spree befindet, hat die resolute Politikerin darauf verzichtet und ihre eigene Wohnung nicht aufgegeben. Das zeugt von einer bodenständigen Einstellung, die wir bewundern. Es ist außerdem eine Mietwohnung. Sie besitzt jedoch noch ein Ferienhaus in der Uckermark.
