Jared estaba tan comprometido con su personaje que él comió muy poco por días, incluso recurriendo a no comer nada, con esto logró perder 38 libras. Él ha hecho experimentos similares con su peso muchas veces. Después de que la película terminó, él ganó su peso de nuevo para otra película que estaba haciendo.
