The moment we start to create a website and publish it online, we only have one goal in our mind. That is for our website to gain blog traffic and hopefully, convert this traffic, these leads, into sales later on. To make this happen, web owners employ different strategies to boost their site traffic. Oftentimes these strategies will include hiring SEO experts, article writers, social media marketing experts, link builders and spending huge amounts to growing the site's traffic.

While going the SEO route might be the most appropriate and appealing method to gain blog traffic, we can't deny that it can be costly. But for smaller sites whose owners are just starting out and is on an extremely tight budget, there are more affordable (and even free) ways to gain the same amount of traffic.

How can we gain more blog traffic if we decide to do things on our own for the meantime? Here are our 5 effective ways to help you boost your blog traffic easily.

1. Content is King

Gone are the days where you try to write an article and stuffed it with keywords to the point that the article doesn't make sense anymore. Google is now punishing those websites who write articles for the sole purpose of ranking your articles and website to the first page.

Google is now giving more importance to the quality of your content. Of course, keywords still exist, but it only acts as a guide when users key in something in the search box. What Google considers to top on a page are articles written with in-depth content, and must be beneficial and helpful to the readers. So instead of worrying about the technicalities, write something that will help the readers improve their lives.

2. Write it Yourself

We understand that you may not have all the time to write things yourself, and instead hire an article writer to do things for you. After all, your main focus is on the business aspect and its operations, right? That may be true, but it's also important to at least put some effort into writing a post on your own. Why? It's because there's nobody else knows your business better than you. You're the one who's in love with this business, you have a passion for it, so your ideas will be clear and authentic as compared to a writer or staff member.

We'll let you in on a little secret. The reason why your loyal customers or readers keep coming back to your site is because you have that unique voice that makes you stand out from the rest of the crowd. If you finally decided to write a genuine content and publish it, it's time for you to share it with the world. And we're not just saying that publishing will do, although that's the first step.

What you need to do next is to promote it to your social media platforms. Share it on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. As much as possible, spread your content. The more you distribute your content, the more readers and customers will be able to reach and read your content.

Another bonus here. Since you already wrote a compelling, unique content, your readers are more than willing to share the articles. So in this way, they're helping you remarket your website as they propagate your content.
